Tips and career/job opportunities in the shooting, hunting, archery, and sportfishing industries.

Connections
Connections are incredibly important and spending quality time with those connections is more important as we get older. Over the weekend, this was reinforced as I got to spend quality time with my friend Lucky while traveling from one outdoor show to another. The Iowa Deer Classic did not disappoint for either of us. It was a great show with fantastic vendors. We only had a short run of it but I made the most of every conversation. We jumped in the car and headed South to Kansas City, MO for one of the best conservation shows in the country — the Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic.
I work hard to attend the PF show each and every year. It is filled with fantastic people, great vendors and a conservation stewardship resonating through the organization. I got to spend some time at a press conference where Pheasants Forever talked about the success of the PATH program in South Dakota and the NCAP program in Nebraska enrolling over 65,000 acres of private land open to hunting access. That is boots-on-the-ground success and proof that Pheasants Forever is an organization working on behalf of their members. These kinds of partnerships could not happen without great partners such as onX.
“The PATH program is built to scale, expanding opportunities for hunters to access quality habitat across the country. The success in South Dakota and Nebraska have proven its effectiveness, reinforcing the power of strategic access initiatives. Since our founding in 2009, onX has been committed to unlocking more opportunities for hunters, and PATH stands out as one of the most impactful ways to do so.” said Ben Brettingen, Hunt Marketing Manager at onX.
“We’re proud to support this expansion and continue working alongside Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever to open more land for hunters nationwide.”
