Outdoor-Hive Newsletter #59 October 15, 2025

Tips and career/job opportunities in the shooting, hunting, archery, and sportfishing industries. These are the opportunities that will grow your career and grow our industry.

Today is a mad dash of a day, as I am finally leaving on my antelope hunt to Wyoming tomorrow. I have been waiting on this hunt for about 14 years, and I have secured the tag that I wanted, to hunt the unit that I have wanted to hunt. I am doing this entire hunt solo with just myself and some gear thrown in my Tacoma.

I am testing a new rifle and scope package and a ton of gear on this hunt. I chose the 7mm PRC for this hunt and I am hunting with a Modern Carbon Rifle from Christensen Arms — on loan — with a Riton Conquer scope. It’s a heck of a set up, and I have one last trip to the range today to make sure everything is ready. I will be out of pocket next week for our newsletter, but it will still be sent to your inbox.

Getting to go on this hunt has been all about patience, and hunting antelope is really all about patience. You can rush in and spook them if you are not careful, or take your time, exercise patience, and come up with a strategic plan to move yourself into the right position to execute.

I know job hunting is very similar and it requires a tremendous amount of patience, in the process, be good to yourself and remember to breath, take care of yourself, and have a little fun while on the search.

Thank you all for being here.
