So far, my deer season hasn’t been all that great. I have a whitetail tag in Nebraska and hunt public land. Some years it is great and other years not great. This year was not great, surrounding farms have a tremendous amount of standing corn. The deer are hanging out in the corn — where they are safe and protected. In over 4 days of hunting, I have seen very few deer moving, and it is the rut. I did get to see two bucks fight over a doe on land I cannot hunt, so that was a cool experience but just out of reach. The good news is that this could all change in an instant tomorrow while you are reading this newsletter. I do have a doe tag, and my hunt this year is not focused on inches but pounds of meat.
This got me to thinking about our current job market in our industry. Sales are down, there is a ton of inventory in the market, and the economy is going to cause ripple effects into our industry. Less people are going to be buying extras and that is going hurt job growth and the number of open positions in the market. There are still plenty of companies who are hiring and growing. I am certainly not into doom and gloom, but it is important to be aware of what is happening in the real world. Regardless of what is going on, if you are looking for opportunity, you have to get up early and attack the market. My hunting friends will tell you, that you can’t harvest anything from your bed. Attack the week my friends!
Firearms

Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues including general machine errors, tooling errors, out of tolerance programming errors. Ensures that the documentation is correct including quantities and other records including previous operations. Promptly performs booking operations and ensures reported quantities are correct. Use of hand tools such as files and hand reamers to de-bur parts while maintaining product conformity. Perform visual inspections to identify issues as early in the production process as possible. Trains operators on S.O.P. as well as visual inspection details.
Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of export compliance policies and procedures. Manage customer accounts and serve as primary point of contact for all Glock subsidiaries and international customers.
