Outdoor-Hive Newsletter #67 December 10, 2025

Tips and career/job opportunities in the shooting, hunting, archery, and sportfishing industries. These are the opportunities that will grow your career and grow our industry.

December always feels so incredibly busy to me. This is the time of the year when I start planning everything for show season and I feel behind until about the last week of January. Every year, I get a little more organized and on track but it has taken me almost 20 years to learn how to approach show season. When I started attending shows in January, it was as an outfitter and quickly transitioned into a my full time roll as media. This year will be my 17th year attending SHOT Show which to some makes me look like a beginner and to others a grizzly old veteran. his will also be my 12th ATA show as I have skipped some years. This year, I will be at both shows and we will also be at a few of the big conservation shows like SCI.

I will have an entire post next week about how to get through the big industry shows with the most success and how to maintain your physical and mental state while at the shows.

This week, take the time go through your LinkedIn profile and make sure that everything is updated and in perfect shape. Pull out the text and run it all through an editing process. Make sure your email and contact information is up to date and everything is as correct as it should be. As well, take some time to connect with 10 more people in the industry. We all grow together and please don’t hesitate to connect with me on LinkedIn. I am here to help, and if I can make an introduction for you to someone who I know, we all win.

Most importantly, as we go through this tremendous holiday season, take time out to enjoy the end of the year, reflect on your success and be present to the season and those who are important in your life. Have a great week and THANK you for being a part of the Outdoor Hive.
