April Showers

They say April showers bring May flowers but honestly this month has seen a whole lot of hail. I think the flowers are getting slammed into the dirt this month. I am personally looking forward to April being over here this week and starting fresh in May. I am starting off the beginning of this month running a media camp in Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach chasing Snook, Tarpon, Snapper, and maybe a few more species. I am really new to Florida fishing. I have a lot of species on my list that I would love to catch over the next week. I will in fact be sending out the newsletter next week from our fishing camp.

The sportfishing industry is growing and we are only a few months out from ICAST. Now is the time to register for ICAST if you are interested in the fishing industry. The show takes place in Orlando, July 14–17, 2026. I will be at this show meeting with companies. This year is going to be a great ICAST. I am hearing excitement in the air for the show this year. From a jobs perspective, I think this a show that is worth attending and doing some serious networking. If you can be there, this is the year to attend.

The ideal Senior Brand Manager has experience working on a brand team and understands how brand and business work together. They can turn strategy into clear briefs and well–executed campaigns / programs, and they are comfortable working across functions to get there. They know how to balance long–term brand building with short–term commercial needs, and can work with partners across product, retail, and marketing to improve the quality of the work – not just deliver it. They communicate clearly, give direct feedback, and use good judgment to decide when to push for a better outcome and when to move forward.
