Outdoor-Hive Newsletter September 17, 2025

Tips and career/job opportunities in the shooting, hunting, archery, and sportfishing industries. These are the opportunities that will grow your career and grow our industry.

Good News and Bad News

We have some internal metrics that we like to utilize to measure success. The first number we pay attention to every day is subscriber count. Honestly at this moment, we are not willing to share that number as we continue to climb the ladder of success for our little project. However, the good news is that we hit a pretty big milestone yesterday. Since we are not trying to sell anything, and running this entire email as a pro bono project for the betterment of our industry, we will keep our numbers to ourselves until we have to divulge them.

The numbers that I will share is that over the last 10 newsletters, we are tracking just a hair under a 60% weekly open rate every and about a 9% click through rate on the links in our newsletter. Those are some fantastic numbers. If we could get more jobs in our list that click-through rate would increase. Since we are a very targeted list keeping above 60% will continue to be our weekly goal each and every single week.

The bad news is, I lost a very important human in my life this week and with the passing of my wife’s mother, it has been a very very hard week. It has also been a very hard week for our nation, so say a prayer for our country, a prayer for my family, and a prayer for your family. I believe a little more prayer in our world would — and should — help our nation heal. So, I am going to stop sharing any more here tonight, I am going to leave our meme black for the week.
