Outdoor-Hive Newsletter September 3, 2025
Tips and career/job opportunities in the shooting, hunting, archery, and sportfishing industries. These are the opportunities that will grow your career and grow our industry.

Labor Day Week
This week feels like the entire week should be a no work week. The opening of hunting season usually keeps me very distracted from working with dove flying in the air, gear to get ready for the season and September through November is traditionally some of my busiest months each year with projects, hunting, and preparation for the next year.
This is also the month of the AGLOW (Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers) conference in Eau Claire, WI. It is my first conference as the Executive Director of the organization (My dream role). I am learning the role day by day and while I know it is going to be a great conference. I am a little nervous and I want to ensure it is great.
The great news is that I am surrounded by some of the best people in the industry, so no matter what happens, it is going to be a great event and I am sure it will turn out amazing. If you are interested in attending, you can learn more here: https://aglowoutdoors.com/the-69th-annual-association-of-great-lakes-outdoor-writers-conference/
Proximity is Power. This new catch phrase in my life continues to remain fresh in my mind. Last week, I was at a conference having to do with tourism across the country and sharing hunting and fishing stories as I made connections with people from all across our great country. I got to spend some time with some great people, and I even saw a concert that capped off a great trip with a tremendous amount of vibe. This week, I am glad to be home and I am going to spend a couple of days with a little bit of proximity to my dog in the field. I hope you all have a great week and you are able to find some roles worth applying for in this weeks newsletter and at least one good joke that makes you laugh.
